This Friday sees the launch of our collaborative exhibition, as part of Scotland’s Year of Stories and the Govanhill International Festival and Carnival. Twenty-five images of objects that have meaning for their owners will be on display in the shop and cafe windows around Govanhill.

The sun shone on Govanhill for the day of the annual carnival, which took place on the 6 August. Community groups and organisations met in Govanhill Park before parading through the streets of Govanhill and ending with a festival in Queen’s Park. A new exhibition opened at the Street Level Photoworks last night celebrates the cultural diversity of this unique community in a visually stunning collection of co-produced works.

Thanks to the work of local Roma group, Rom Romeha, Queen's Park has more spaces for friends and family to gather this summer. The activists from the Roma community, with the support of Glasgow City Council, built picnic benches in the park.
