The Community Newsroom in a collaborative media hub, run in partnership by Greater Govanhill CIC and The Ferret.

It is located at 82 Bowman Street, just off Victoria Road in Govanhill.

We have eight desks, that can be rented out, plus a meeting room that can be booked. The whole space can be hired out in evenings and weekends for workshops, discussion groups, screenings and meet-ups.

Desks are currently rented out by people from a broad mix of profesisons including journalists, editors, campaigners, policy workers, communications experts, podcast producers and more. It is a welcoming and friendly.

Included when you rent a desk are free tea/coffee, wifi, printer use, a set of keys and a locker.

Co-working Desk Hire

£175 pcm for 4 days per week
£150 pcm for 3 days per week
£100 pcm for 2 days per week
£60 pcm month for 1 day per week

We prefer people to book on a regular monthly basis. However, ad hoc booking is also possible.

£20 for ad hoc daily use (from 9am - 6pm)
£10 for ad hoc half day use (for either 9am - 1pm or 1:30pm - 6pm)

Meeting Room Hire (seats 6)

£10 per hour
£50 per day
The Meeting Room can be booked for free for up to two hours each day for anyone with a desk.

Whole Space Hire

If you have a workshop or event coming up that will take place in the evening or weekend, you can book the entire space. It can seat a maximum of 25 in when sat out in rows. Or it can be arranged for workshops, or other formats. Projector and speakers also available. Get in touch for more info.

To use the newsroom, you must be a member of either Greater Govanhill or The Ferret and have completed and induction with a member of the team.
