It’s the last week of Easter holidays – what’s on for school kids?

 

We know how hard it can be to find fun, free activities for the young ones during holidays. For the last week of the Easter holidays, local pupil, Sadie, has put together a list of activities and workshops to check out. From lego sessions at the local library to a music workshop at the Deep End.

Rumpus Room Seasonal Celebration 

Rumpus Room’s Seasonal Celebration poster

When: Saturday 18 April, 1–4pm
Where: Rumpus Room, Langside Lane, G42 8BH
A seasonal drop in celebration for all ages with activities including planting, cooking, potato printing and puppet making.

From Trees to Music

When: Sunday 19 April, 11–3pm
Where: The Deep End, 21 Nithsdale St, G41 2PZ
A free workshop for young people. Take a walk in nature walk, observe and explore the trees, and come back together to create music with the instruments provided. No musical experience needed. 7-10 year session at 1:30–3pm and 11-13 year olds session at 1:30–3pm.

Southside Unity March Against Racism

When: Sunday 19 April, 12pm
Where: Assembling at Newlands Park, Kilmarnock Road entrance
Stand Up to Racism wants to celebrate the Southside’s history of resistance, inviting everyone to come together to march in unity against racism and fascism.

Art and Music Activities at the Burrell Collection

‍When: Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 April, 1:30pm
Where: The Burrell Collection, Pollok Country Park, 2060 Pollokshaws Road, G43 1AT
Free, curated sessions for families to bring young ones to – an afternoon of creative activities, including crafts and music. Open to 5-11 year olds

Lego Fun Session

When: Every Saturday until 23 December 2026, 10:30-12:30pm (Pollokshields Library), 2-4pm (Pollokshaws Library)
Where: Pollokshields Library, 30 Leslie St, G41 2LF, Pollokshaw Library, Shawbridge Street, G43 1RW
Bring the little ones, aged 5–11 years old, for free lego fun at your local library. Lego sets will be available at the library during the sesion.

Palestinian Film Screening

When: Monday 20 April, 6–8pm
Where: Assembly Hall, 20 Scott St
A little further afield – a free screening showing three Palestinian short films, followed by a vegan meal. An opportunity to donate to families in Lebanon.
