Elections Results for Southside Central

The results are in for Glasgow Southside Central.

The election results are in for Glasgow Southside Central with the Green Party winning a seat, making Cllr Elaine Gallagher the first trans woman to be elected to Glasgow City Council. 

She said: “I’m absolutely delighted to be the first trans councillor in Glasgow City. ”

The SNP held onto one seat, with Cllr Alexander Belic elected, however Mhairi Hunter lost her seat. She had this to say: 

“Well I didn't expect today to go like this. A combination of Green & Alba votes leaves me no longer a councillor.  Pretty ironic really. Still, more time to campaign for independence. Onwards & upwards.”

Also elected are Labour Cllr’s Soryia Siddique and James Scanlon.
