The Southside will come alive with colour, music and pedal power this Saturday as families join the city’s first ever Kidical Mass ride — a global movement turning streets into safe spaces for children to cycle, play and be heard.

Shawlands Bike Bus, GoBike, and local parents and their children, came together to show their appreciation for the city’s 270km cycle network plans. With a “jumbo Thank You card” in hand, they shared gratitude, feedback, and hopes for a more bike-friendly future.

Several initiatives around Govanhill are among the twenty-nine projects funded across the city in a move that has been welcomed by the local cycling community. The fund is designed to engage citizens with the 2023 UCI Cycling World Championships taking place from 3-13 August.
