Offline to host a vibrant collection of new short films

On Friday 18th September at 6.45, Offline on Niddrie Street are hosting a vibrant collection of new short films by some of the most exciting early-career artists working today. One of those artists is local man Jack Guariento from Pollockshaws.

The collection is brought together by Videoclub and the Film London Artists’ Moving Image Network (FLAMIN) under the title “Selected16”. The 9 short films  in the collection were nominated by artists shortlisted for the Film London Jarman Award 2025

In Jack's film, Tommy wanders the hills above his scheme during the Covid-19 lockdown. The break from daily life allows his mind to wander like untethered goats.

Based on a short piece written for the Workers’ Stories Project by Dumbarton-based housing activist Tommy Lusk, 'Bellsmyre Caledonia’ looks at housing, work and leisure during the pandemic, and considers the way in which the time opened up by lockdown presented an opportunity for expanded critical thought.

Selected 16 is showing across Britain during September.

Jack and Tommy will be holding a Q & A at the showing in Glasgow.
